• Performing fuel rod thermal-mechanical design analyses ensuring fuel rod mechanical integrity is maintained throughout the design lifetime • Collaborating with fuel mechanical design experts, material scientists, nuclear/thermal-hydraulic analysis engineers to ensure product performs within licensed and GNF performance expectations • Establishing thermal mechanical operating limits for new and existing fuel product lines • Assisting in the evaluation of fuel behavior for generic and plant specific transient analyses • Supporting the fuel operations and addressing customer issues related to fuel pellets and cladding • Interpreting operational and test data and using the data to drive improvements in modeling and methodologies • Maintaining and developing the fuel performance code • Providing well written, well organized documented engineering analyses to assure design adequacy • Maintaining and developing technical design procedures associated with fuel rod design/analysis activities • Providing support in addressing nuclear industry needs and trends • Presenting to internal/external customers and nuclear regulators on fuel performance • Assisting and providing support to the team technical leader and functional manager to plan, status and execute projects • Performing work with high quality in accordance with NRC regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards • Effectively communicating and collaborating activities with other team members on technical issues
