Job Description

CHIEF OF STAFF, Value Creation

Fortify Companies

Location: Kennesaw, GA or Portsmouth, NH.

Reports to: CEO

About Us

Fortify’s roots are in restoration, and that foundation gives us credibility with carriers and policyholders alike.

But we believe restoration alone isn’t enough. The industry performs better when loss is prevented where possible and response is coordinated when it’s not. Fortify is building a platform that aligns insurance carriers, property owners, and service providers across prevention, response, restoration, and rebuild.

Through Fortify’s growing portfolio of operating companies—including Rytech, Insurcomm, and additional businesses we will bring into the ecosystem—this alignment is delivered at scale.

The Role

The Chief of Staff, Value Creation is the CEO’s right hand in driving value creation across the Fortify portfolio.

This role leads the design, execution, and governance of value creation initiatives across acquired and organic growth platforms. It ensures that the most important strategic and operational levers are identified, resourced, sequenced, and delivered.

This is not a reporting function. While the role owns cadence, scorecards, and board materials, its primary responsibility is outcomes — ensuring that Fortify realizes the full revenue, margin, and strategic potential of each investment.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Diligence & Underwriting Support

  • Partner with the M&A team during acquisition diligence
  • Build business cases, operational models, and post-close value creation roadmaps
  • Translate underwriting assumptions into executable operating plans and budgets
  • Identify risk areas and define mitigation plans before closing
  • Align functional leaders on Day 1 and 100-day priorities

Post-Close Value Creation Leadership

  • Own overall project management of value creation plans across the portfolio
  • Establish milestones, governance, and accountability structures
  • Lead executive integration and operating cadence meetings
  • Maintain visibility into critical KPIs and financial targets
  • Surface risks early and drive corrective action
  • Continuously identify new value levers as businesses evolve
  • This individual keeps the organization focused on what matters most and ensures that strategic intent becomes operational reality.

Governance, Reporting & Executive Support

  • Create concise, insight-driven updates for CEO, Board, and shareholders
  • Drive board-level reporting on synergy capture, performance vs. underwriting, and integration progress
  • Support forward-looking communications to internal teams, investors, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure portfolio companies are aligned on strategic priorities and messaging

Strategic Project Execution

  • Personally lead select high-impact initiatives across the portfolio
  • Support implementation of technology systems and operating infrastructure
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that require executive coordination
  • Roll up sleeves when needed to unblock initiatives and accelerate progress

What Success Looks Like

  • Successfully executing M&A transactions that meet financial and strategic objectives
  • Delivering seamless integrations with measurable value capture and synergy realization
  • Completing strategic initiatives on-time and on-budget with clear business impact
  • Building repeatable processes and governance structures that scale with company growth
  • Earning trust as the CEO's strategic partner with strong executive team satisfaction
  • Producing high-quality Board materials and stakeholder communications
