Role Description

Responsible for providing oversight and direction to the employees in the Domain in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Using their functional knowledge and familiarity with personal coaching, prioritization, and conflict resolution, the Technical Services Domain Director will ensure that team performance is optimal and consistently improving based on data and individual growth. The Domain Director supports the overall vision for the Technical Services Domain and Hitachi Solutions overall by nourishing team growth, managing morale, education, risk, and providing ongoing mentorship.

  • Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the Technical Services Domain in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Act as primary escalation point for reporting employees. Responsible for completion of annual performance reviews.
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.
  • Ensure team members are ready for successful delivery of client projects, solution design, and the implementation of requirements.
  • Maintain high standards for project execution and quality.
  • Oversee the development of machine learning models, statistical analyses, and end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity.
  • Manage inter- and intra- team conflicts through direct issue resolution approaches.
  • Responsible for building community among the team, including Global Delivery Center resources.
  • Ensure reporting employees are scheduled to maximum utilization and meeting revenue targets.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
  • Partner with leaders across the Domain to deliver regular feedback to staff.
  • Align with GDC Manager as it relates to project assignments and staffing.
  • Ensure all managed employees enter weekly time and expense entries within the required timeframes and that approvals are completed.
  • Maintain transparent communication.
  • Appropriately communicate organizational information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, Teams and regular interpersonal communication.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing teams that have robust experience with cloud technologies such as Azure Databricks, MLflow, and similar tools on the Azure stack and proficiency in Python/PySpark and SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of various modeling algorithms e.g. Linear, GLMs, trees-based models, neural networks, clustering, PCA, and time series models.
  • Proficiency in Python (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, LangChain) and Spark.
  • Proficiency with MLOps (mlflow, git).

Requirements

  • Base Salary Pay Range*: $170,000 - $210,000 USD
  • Must be a citizen of the United States, or have the ability to work within the USA without sponsorship.
