Role Description

The International Logistics Specialist (ILS) will report to the Director, Global Logistics and Transportation. The ILS will routinely interface with various stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of driving efficiency throughout the Supply Chain. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Director in the development and execution of the annual Ocean Freight RFP.
  • Leading Quarterly Business Reviews to monitor Ocean Carrier performance.
  • Acting as the primary contact for overseas logistics teams and booking agents in China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
  • Interacting cross-functionally with imports and purchasing teams to meet inventory planning needs.
  • Assisting in the oversight and management of carrier rates, allocations, and network optimization.
  • Working with HFT’s Costing team and 3rd-Party Freight Auditor to ensure accurate capture of ocean freight costs.
  • Troubleshooting issues and challenges in the Supply Chain to identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Managing the export RTV program and airfreight shipments.
  • Coordinating sample and test shipments between labs in California and China.
  • Assisting in expanding Oracle-based models for shipments to new origins or DCs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in international logistics and supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Leads Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with Ocean Carriers.
  • Coordinates the Ocean Freight RFP process.
  • Makes recommendations on carrier selection.
  • Uses KPI & Carrier Scorecards to track Ocean Carrier Performance.
  • Monitors booking agent performance and troubleshoots issues.
  • Coordinates completion and distribution of Weekly Volume Forecast to Ocean Carriers.
  • Manages RTV export process and air freight for various shipments.
  • Develops and implements contingency plans for vessel space during peak seasons.
  • Conducts cost-benefit and ROI analysis of logistics initiatives.
  • Drives reporting and analysis of Spot Rate Indices.
  • Leads network modeling, route optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Assists with development of Oracle-based models for new origins/DCs.
