Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Public Relations Manager to lead our brand narrative in the highly competitive E-commerce and digital retail space. The ideal candidate is a proactive storyteller with strong media instincts and a deep understanding of how modern e-commerce brands grow through digital PR, influencer collaborations, and online media coverage.
You will be responsible for developing and executing high-impact PR strategies that strengthen brand visibility, drive authority in the e-commerce ecosystem, and support business growth across online channels such as marketplaces, DTC websites, and social commerce platforms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and has experience helping early-stage or scaling e-commerce brands build their public presence from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic PR & Brand Positioning:
- Develop and execute integrated PR strategies tailored for e-commerce and digital-first brands.
- Align PR initiatives with growth marketing, product launches, and online sales strategies.
- Build brand authority in the e-commerce, retail tech, and digital consumer space through media exposure and thought leadership.
- Lead the development of annual PR roadmaps, campaign plans, and budgets.

Media Relations & Brand Storytelling:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and industry publications, particularly within the e-commerce, business, retail, and tech sectors.
- Proactively pitch media outlets to secure press coverage, founder features, product spotlights, and industry commentary.
- Develop compelling press materials including press releases, media kits, thought leadership articles, and brand stories.
- Act as a key liaison between the company and media stakeholders.

Influencer Marketing & KOL Engagement:
- Identify and manage relationships with relevant influencers, creators, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) aligned with the brand.
- Lead influencer collaborations that amplify brand awareness, product launches, and e-commerce campaigns.
- Track and measure the performance and ROI of influencer initiatives.

Reputation Management & Crisis Communication:
- Monitor media coverage, digital conversations, and online sentiment to protect and strengthen brand reputation.
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies and response protocols.
- Manage brand narratives during sensitive public or media situations.

Digital PR & Content Strategy:
- Partner with marketing and content teams to develop PR-driven digital storytelling campaigns.
- Leverage social media, digital publications, podcasts, and online communities to amplify brand messaging.
- Ensure PR initiatives support SEO visibility, brand search growth, and online authority.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:
- Track PR performance using media analytics, sentiment analysis, reach, and engagement metrics.
- Provide leadership with regular reports on PR impact, brand visibility, and campaign performance.
- Continuously optimize strategies based on data, industry trends, and competitive insights.

Partnerships & Industry Presence:
- Identify and manage strategic partnerships, media collaborations, and industry sponsorship opportunities.
- Build relationships with e-commerce communities, founders, thought leaders, and industry organizations.
- Position the company as a recognized voice in the e-commerce ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 2 to 5 years of proven experience in Public Relations, preferably within e-commerce, digital retail, DTC brands, or consumer startups.
- Strong understanding of the e-commerce landscape, online consumer behavior, and digital brand storytelling.
- Proven success securing media placements, brand features, and industry coverage.
- Experience managing influencer marketing campaigns and KOL partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience in reputation management and crisis communication.
- Proficiency in PR analytics, media monitoring tools, and digital performance tracking.
- Strong knowledge of social media, digital marketing, and online brand building.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments.
