Role Description

This role is central to ensuring smooth, timely, and accurate real estate closings by managing title and curative matters with precision. You will work across internal and external systems to identify and resolve potential issues that could delay transactions, escalating complex files as needed while mentoring junior team members. The position requires strong technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will collaborate closely with closing teams, attorneys, and external partners to provide a seamless customer experience and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with opportunities for professional growth and skill development.

  • Review and resolve title defects, including liens, judgments, missing titleholders, and property line adjustments.
  • Analyze chains of title to identify clouds and determine methods to clear defects for closing.
  • Coordinate with closing departments to ensure proper payoffs and order deeds to change vesting as needed.
  • Manage and review complex files, including trusts, plat maps, and attorney title opinion letters, escalating as necessary.
  • Collaborate with outside creditors and partners to resolve judgment liens, child support liens, and other encumbrances.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate closings.
  • Support junior associates by providing guidance and assistance on basic workflow responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in title and escrow with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of title insurance, regulatory guidelines, and legal documents.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to proactively meet client needs.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in multiple computer programs and internal systems; familiarity with ResWare is a plus.
  • Possession of individual title and/or escrow licenses is a bonus.
  • Adaptable and open to process changes, system updates, and continuous improvement.
