Role Description

We are seeking a Director of Analytics to lead and scale our analytics function with a primary focus on performance reporting, value-based insights, and decision support. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both setting direction and building alongside their team.

You will serve as a critical partner to clinical, product, operations, and payer stakeholders — ensuring we measure what matters, understand performance drivers, and translate data into clear actions that improve care delivery and contract outcomes.

You’ll work closely with engineering to shape data pipelines and ensure analytics is reliable, scalable, and trusted, while also representing Icon in analytical conversations with client partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Value-Based Performance Analytics
    • Own measurement and reporting of clinical and financial performance across markets and payer contracts.
    • Develop frameworks to monitor total cost of care, utilization patterns, engagement, and outcomes.
    • Identify performance drivers and opportunities to improve savings and care delivery.
  • Drive Product & Operational Insights
    • Partner with product and operations to define metrics, evaluate feature impact and support continuous improvement.
    • Translate operational questions into rigorous analyses that inform prioritization and execution.
    • Help shape how data informs care pathways and workflows.
  • Player-Coach Leadership
    • Lead and mentor analysts while remaining deeply involved in analysis, modeling, and problem solving.
    • Establish high standards for analytical rigor, documentation, and storytelling.
    • Build a culture where insights are trusted and actionable.
  • Partner with Engineering
    • Collaborate on data models, pipeline design, and data quality initiatives.
    • Ensure core reporting is scalable, consistent, and reproducible.
    • Help define data definitions and governance to support growth.
  • Payer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Present performance insights and analyses to payer partners and external stakeholders.
    • Support reporting needs tied to contracts, performance reviews, and operational discussions.
    • Serve as a trusted analytical voice in partner conversations.
  • Build Scalable Reporting
    • Oversee dashboards, recurring reporting, and KPI frameworks across the organization.
    • Ensure clarity around metric definitions and performance narratives.
    • Reduce noise while increasing signal for decision-makers.

Qualifications

  • A healthcare analytics leader who understands the realities of value-based care and provider/payer dynamics.
  • Energized by building systems, teams and frameworks - not just maintaining them.
  • Curious, pragmatic, and deeply accountable.
  • Able to communicate complex findings clearly to executive, clinical and operational audiences.
  • Motivated by improving patient outcomes through better data and decisions.

Requirements

  • ~6 years of experience in healthcare analytics, reporting or performance measurement.
  • Strong experience working with claims, eligibility, utilization, EHR and risk-based performance data.
  • Experience supporting value-based contracts, business performance reviews, or client-facing reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead analytics efforts in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Proficiency with SQL and modern BI tools, comfort working closely with Data Engineering.
  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience translating ambiguous questions into structured analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence with external partners.

Benefits

  • Meaningful impact on patient care and healthcare delivery.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team that values thoughtful problem solving.
  • Flexibility to work remotely.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • The opportunity to help build a category-defining company.
