Role Description

The Certified Energy Manager with a mechanical engineering background and currently an Engineer-in-Training working toward Professional Engineer licensure. The engineer will work closely with licensed professionals and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate systems, develop energy solutions, and support projects from early analysis through implementation planning.

This remote role will support federal and infrastructure projects focused on energy resilience, microgrids, and data center facilities. This is a hands-on technical position and will be directly involved in shaping solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term operational performance.

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow into a leadership role while building experience in resilience, mission-critical systems, and federal energy programs.

Our upcoming projects focus on resilience-driven infrastructure — including federal energy resilience programs, microgrid deployment, and high-performance data center environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects under the Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program
  • Assist in microgrid planning efforts, including load analysis, system sizing coordination, and integration with existing mechanical infrastructure
  • Evaluate mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities, including data centers
  • Conduct energy audits and develop energy conservation measures
  • Perform life-cycle cost analysis, savings calculations, and feasibility assessments
  • Support resilience planning and backup power strategies
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers on distributed energy systems and interconnection planning
  • Assist with performance-based contracting and energy baseline development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Certified Energy Manager credential
  • Engineer-in-Training certification
  • Actively pursuing Professional Engineer licensure
  • Experience with energy modeling, building performance analysis, or mission-critical environments
  • Experience and knowledge on sustainability in a built environment
  • Exposure to microgrid systems, resilience planning, or data center mechanical systems is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work across disciplines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN

Requirements

  • Location: REMOTE

Compensation

  • The expected base salary range for this role is $100-120K per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
  • This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with company match
    • Paid time off and company holidays
    • Wellness programs and employee assistance resources
    • Professional development support
