Role Description
The Obituary Advisor plays a vital role in delivering thoughtful, reliable, and empathetic customer service through both inbound and outbound interactions. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, guiding them through the obituary placement process, and ensuring every detail is handled with care.
- Entry of obituaries into the iPublish program for both print and digital.
- Administrative duties include answering incoming calls and making outbound calls.
- Responding promptly to incoming emails.
- Reacting to change productively and handling other essential tasks as needed.
- Communicating with team members plus internal and external customers.
- Strictly adhering to workflow processes and provided content guidelines in a deadline-focused environment.
- Additional administrative duties as needed.
- Work Saturday and Sunday, plus hours on Monday.
Qualifications
- Self-starter who is able to multi-task, take initiative, and prioritize.
- Desire to learn and understand both the print and online advertising industry.
- Attention to detail skills including excellent proofreading, spelling, and grammar in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information according to guidelines.
- Typing speed of at least 40-45 wpm for data entry.
- Proficient in MS Office software is a plus.
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal, with efficient telephone etiquette.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to excel in providing and servicing customer accounts.
