Role Description
This role provides the opportunity to lead and execute instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering projects for the modernization and upgrade of nuclear power plants. The Lead Engineer will oversee both small- and large-scale projects, coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure technical execution and timely delivery.
- Lead and support I&C engineering projects, including system design, upgrades, and digital modernization efforts.
- Develop digital system designs for PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems.
- Prepare control system functional and implementation requirements, procurement specifications, and technical reports.
- Interface with clients and vendors to ensure project execution, compliance, and satisfaction.
- Manage resources, task estimates, and budgets, ensuring on-time project delivery.
- Review diagrams, drawings, and vendor bids, and witness FAT performance as needed.
- Support project implementation and oversee troubleshooting and resolution of control system issues.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing instrumentation and control systems for commercial or industrial applications.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of control systems, digital platforms, and pre-engineered solutions.
- Experience leading engineering teams and serving as a client liaison.
- Proficiency in reviewing technical documentation and preparing reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
