The Category Manager will develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives that balance cost optimization, quality, and risk management while driving measurable enterprise value. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to influence operations, finance, and venue leadership, fostering strong supplier partnerships and ensuring compliance with governance and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, negotiation expertise, and a collaborative approach to transform procurement into a strategic business driver. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where strategic thinking and operational execution go hand-in-hand. The role may require travel up to 30–50% of the time.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute multi-year category strategies and playbooks for operational indirect services to support business growth and venue needs.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives including RFPs, contract negotiations, supplier selection, and consolidation efforts.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to operations, finance, and venue leadership, translating operational needs into scalable sourcing strategies.
- Promote supplier inclusion, sustainability, and community impact within service categories.
- Track and report on savings, performance metrics, and sourcing pipeline using procurement tools and analytics.
- Support enterprise procurement transformation initiatives, championing best practices and digital enablement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably in indirect or operational services.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and financial analysis skills.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption in decentralized, fast-paced environments.
- Experience with procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa) and familiarity with ESG initiatives and supplier diversity programs.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship management capabilities.
- Willingness to travel 30–50% as required.
