Role Description

This role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise-wide category management for operational support services, including:

  • Facilities
  • Security
  • Staffing
  • Waste management
  • Equipment services

The Category Manager will develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives that balance cost optimization, quality, and risk management while driving measurable enterprise value. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to influence operations, finance, and venue leadership, fostering strong supplier partnerships and ensuring compliance with governance and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, negotiation expertise, and a collaborative approach to transform procurement into a strategic business driver. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where strategic thinking and operational execution go hand-in-hand. The role may require travel up to 30–50% of the time.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies and playbooks for operational indirect services to support business growth and venue needs.
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives including RFPs, contract negotiations, supplier selection, and consolidation efforts.
  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operations, finance, and venue leadership, translating operational needs into scalable sourcing strategies.
  • Promote supplier inclusion, sustainability, and community impact within service categories.
  • Track and report on savings, performance metrics, and sourcing pipeline using procurement tools and analytics.
  • Support enterprise procurement transformation initiatives, championing best practices and digital enablement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably in indirect or operational services.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and financial analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption in decentralized, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa) and familiarity with ESG initiatives and supplier diversity programs.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel 30–50% as required.
