Role Description
As a Senior Technical Writer at TaskUs, you will act as an Architect for our clients, focusing on building great processes and internal documentation to enhance customer experiences. Your role involves:
- Scoping and creating documentation individually and collaboratively.
- Writing clear documentation on technical and other tasks.
- Editing, clarifying, and proofreading documents written by others.
- Writing and testing published documents for searchability and effectiveness.
- Managing multiple, competing priorities in a constantly changing environment.
- Planning, researching, and writing documentation for projects of moderate to high complexity.
- Managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships to understand processes and approve final copy.
- Identifying audiences for content and anticipating their questions and needs.
- Developing innovative solutions to resolve complex tasks and improve processes.
- Creating operating guidelines, knowledge bases, and FAQs for customer support staff and users.
- Collaborating with SMEs, product designers, and conducting independent research.
Qualifications
- BA/BS with a strong academic record in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent writing degree preferred.
- 5+ years of online editing, content creation, and/or content strategy experience.
- 5+ years working in a technical field.
- 5+ years managing small project teams to develop, execute, and complete assignments.
- Experience evaluating team performance, including quarterly reviews and assessments.
- Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning and understanding new technologies.
- Strong command of the English language with meticulous grammar and proofreading skills.
- Excellent business acumen, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Keen technical curiosity with outstanding research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to break down complex technical subjects for different audiences.
- Strong drive to succeed and a hunger for interesting challenges.
- Commitment to following and improving team processes and style guidelines.
- Ability to self-manage day-to-day tasks with minimal guidance.
- Strong project management skills; able to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment; thrives in ambiguity.
- Ability to adapt quickly and create solutions independently and collaboratively.

- Programming skills in any language.
- An eye for visuals and graphic design, and familiarity with image editing tools.
- Experience with other methods of presenting learning content, such as recorded video tutorials or instructor-led training.
- Experience writing content for a technology company.
- Passion for creating pleasant user experiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally with UX, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing partners.
- Ability to make content strategy decisions based on credible metrics.
