Job Description

• Own Tax Compliance & Strategy • Manage federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance • Oversee SALT nexus, franchise taxes, and annual filings as we expand • Design and administer equity tax strategy (ISOs, NSOs, 83(b) elections) • Maximize and defend R&D tax credits in partnership with Engineering • Evaluate sales and use tax exposure and implement compliance workflows • Build Scalable Systems • Establish tax processes, calendars, and workflows from scratch • Build internal controls and documentation for audit readiness • Select and manage external advisors where needed • Set up the tech stack to support tax operations • Advise Leadership • Proactively flag tax implications of hiring, expansion, and product decisions • Support fundraising and investor diligence • Translate complex tax positions into clear business guidance for the CEO and leadership team

Job Requirements

Have a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant degree
Have 8-15+ years of progressive tax experience with a blend of public accounting and in-house roles
Are CPA or Enrolled Agent license (required)
Have strong federal and state tax expertise in tech, SaaS, or venture-backed companies
Encompass a builder mentality- you're hands-on and comfortable being the first tax hire
Have sound judgment in ambiguous environments; can make decisions with incomplete information
Communicate complex tax concepts to non-technical executives
