Job Description
**CAN BE REMOTE IF YOU HAVE OVER 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE**
We are seeking a Junior Natural Gas Scheduler to support daily gas scheduling operations across Northeast pipelines and Local Distribution Companies (LDCs). This role is responsible for managing nominations, monitoring pipeline activity, maintaining volumetric balances, and supporting internal stakeholders with timely operational data.
The Junior Scheduler will work closely with the Gas Supply Manager to support ETRM system functions, reporting, and special projects.
Schedule Requirement:
Must be available to start at 8:00 AM EST and participate in weekend and on-call rotations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Submit and confirm daily pipeline and LDC nominations through Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBBs)
Monitor daily gas flows, capacity cuts, and system imbalances
Reconcile scheduled volumes and provide accurate data to Accounting
Validate reported volumes and transportation rates; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Support monthly retail load forecasting by compiling and maintaining data for forecasting models
Assist with ETRM system maintenance and operational reporting
Participate in additional projects and operational duties as assigned
Qualifications:
2+ years of natural gas scheduling or related energy industry experience preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to interpret operational data and make sound decisions
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow structured technical processes
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Professional, positive attitude with strong internal and external relationship-building skills
Proficient with computer systems and specialized industry applications
Ability to remain focused and accurate during time-sensitive tasks
