Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the operational anchor of the company. This role is responsible for building structure, reinforcing accountability, and creating sustainable systems that support long-term growth. Success in this seat requires a systems-first mindset, strong intellectual curiosity, and the ability to translate vision into disciplined execution.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role. You’ll be visible, engaged, and deeply involved in how the work flows through the organization. The Director of Operations ensures that priorities are clear, commitments are honored, and operational cadence is maintained consistently across teams.
While this is not an individual contributor or technical engineering role, a strong operational presence and a working knowledge of managed IT services are essential. The Director of Operations partners closely with service leadership and service delivery but does not function as a Service Manager or ticket escalation point.
Key Responsibilities
-
Operational Execution
- Drive and improve operational workflows across service delivery, projects, and internal operations.
- Establish clear processes, accountability, and structured execution rhythms.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions.
-
People & Accountability
- Lead, coach, and support managers and team leads.
- Create clarity around roles, expectations, and priorities.
- Partner with leadership on performance management and development.
- Hold teams accountable to commitments, timelines, and performance standards while maintaining a supportive culture.
-
Visibility & Performance
- Ensure strategic initiatives move from idea to completion.
- Track KPIs, service metrics, and operational performance.
- Create visibility into progress, risks, and results.
-
Leadership Alignment
- Work closely with ownership and leadership to align operations with business goals.
- Serve as the bridge between leadership vision and team execution.
- Support clear communication and coordination across departments.
Qualifications
- Working understanding of managed IT services or a technical services environment.
- Proven experience in an operations leadership role (Director of Operations, Head of Operations, or similar).
- Background in leading teams and managers within a service-based organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build repeatable systems and establish consistent operational cadence in a growing organization.
- Strong experience in process improvement, execution, and accountability.
- Strong intellectual curiosity with a commitment to continuous learning and operational improvement in a technology-driven environment.
- Calm, organized, and decisive leadership style with a systems-first mindset.
- Comfort balancing strategy with hands-on operational involvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP), IT services, or technical services environment.
- Familiarity with service delivery metrics, SLAs, and project management workflows.
What This Role Is Not
- This role is not a strategy-only position; it requires translating leadership vision into execution and measurable operational results.
- It is not a super Service Manager, a ticket escalation point, or a technical architect role.
- It is not focused on driving rapid change for its own sake; it is responsible for building sustainable systems, reinforcing accountability, and protecting operational rhythm as the company scales.
- This role requires patience with process, consistency in execution, and comfort working within structure.
Benefits
- Medical benefits
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Paid holidays
- Supportive leadership culture focused on accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement
- Opportunity to influence how teams, processes, and systems evolve as the company grows
- Additional benefits and details will be discussed during the interview process
