Job Description
Role Description
We're seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our product and engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold and enhance the quality standards across our product suite. You'll conduct various test types across all development stages and work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Data, and Customer Ops teams to establish and execute quality standards and frameworks. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in analytical and reporting tasks, including conducting detailed technical analyses of product requirements and designs and preparing comprehensive technical documentation.
- Engage in the analysis and review of requirements and designs to identify potential gaps and issues
-
Plan and execute testing activities:
- Create checklists
- Configure test environment
- Conduct manual UI and API testing
- Report and own bugs
- Prepare quality reports
- Communicate quality status to the teams and stakeholders
- Proactively investigate issues reported by customers or teams, together with implementing preventative measures
- Make impactful decisions, prioritizing tasks, and helping engineering teams with direction
- Collaborate with the Development team, QAs, and Product managers to ensure that the software updates are delivered in a timely manner
- Support the Implementation team with go-live activities
- Improve technical documentation
- Proactively share knowledge about the system with the teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of QA experience, preferably at a software product company — bonus points for background in climate/sustainability tech or the travel, hospitality, or airline industries
- Proficiency in API and UI testing, with a deep understanding of testing principles, best practices, and SDLC in an Agile environment
- Proven experience testing applications backed by NoSQL databases, including the ability to navigate non-relational data structures — experience building scalable aggregations and queries to surface actionable insights is a strong plus
- Strong technical chops with the ability to deep dive into complex problems and identify root causes; experience with command line interfaces, scripting, or programming is an advantage
- Excellent communicator — able to work cross-functionally, convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and proactively keep teams in the loop
- Self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, a curious and conscientious nature, and the drive to grow into expanded responsibilities as the company scales
Interview Process
At Chooose, we prioritize transparency throughout our interview process. If your qualifications look like a fit, we’ll begin with an introductory conversation where you'll have the chance to discuss your experience and learn more about our company. From there you'll receive a practical exercise so you can show your work. The second phase consists of a technical interview where you'll meet with fellow members of the team, and you'll get a chance to talk through your technical exercise. The final phase of the interview process is 1-2 one-on-one conversations with the hiring manager and member of our executive team. The process should take approx. 4 weeks. While we strive to keep to this timeline, the occasional adjustment may occur; we’re focused on ensuring for enough time to get to know one another.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and skill, commensurate with market rates, and will include both salary and equity in Chooose.
