Join Our Team as a Probate Researcher

Emrich International Probate Research Inc
Are you naturally curious and love solving complex puzzles? Do you have a passion for genealogy or skip tracing, and thrive in an international work environment where initiative and growth are encouraged? If so, we invite you to consider a rewarding career with Emrich International Probate Research Inc.

About Us
We are a dynamic and expanding international company and the U.S.-based arm of the Erben-Ermittlung Emrich Group, a leading German probate research firm. Our mission is to locate unknown heirs and reunite them with their rightful inheritances in the U.S., Germany, and beyond.

The Role: Probate Researcher
As a Probate Researcher, you’ll play a central role in every case—reconstructing family trees, tracking down missing heirs, and serving as their key contact throughout the probate process. This is a role for someone who is meticulous, persistent, and has a flair for both research and communication.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct genealogical research using online databases and archival records
  • Build intestate family trees using our proprietary software
  • Initiate and manage your own probate cases
  • Communicate with clients and heirs via phone and mail
  • Order and manage legal documents (birth, marriage, and death certificates)
  • Collaborate with international partners and researchers on case strategies
  • Manage case files and provide customer support
  • Occasionally perform on-site research in the NYC area
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in research, skip tracing, genealogy, or sales
  • Associate's degree (or equivalent experience/training)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and interpret legal and genealogical documents
  • Strong digital literacy and comfort working with databases
  • Self-motivation, independence, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Passion for genealogy and investigative work
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive onboarding and training—you'll manage your own cases within your first year
  • Starting salary: $50,000, with a raise after one year
  • Annual bonus
  • Remote work flexibility with trust-based working hours
  • 22 vacation days plus public holidays and 8 paid sick days
  • Premium health insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions
  • Regular invitations to company events and conferences in Germany
