A "Day in the Life" of the Franchise Business Consultant

The Franchise Business Consultant will drive franchise growth and operational excellence, ensuring franchisees achieve compliance, profitability, and alignment with OpenWorks’ standards. This role supports franchise performance through targeted coaching, training, and development programs, while collaborating cross-functionally to enhance franchise tools, strategies, and compliance initiatives. The Franchise Business Consultant will report on key metrics, recommend improvements, and foster best-in-class franchisee experiences.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Ensure franchisees complete required training and adhere to compliance standards outlined in the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and Operations Manual.
  • Develop and execute training programs measured by franchise health scorecards and revenue growth.
  • Manage the FirstWorks Program to ensure timely franchise onboarding and RAMP compliance.
  • Curate and maintain training materials for Franchise University, including business strategies, financial acumen, and human capital management.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions via webinars, in-person events, and self-guided modules.
  • Collaborate with the Franchise Advisory Board and top franchisees to create actionable tools for network-wide success.
  • Track and report on franchise performance, providing tailored coaching and development plans.
  • Assist Directors of Performance (DOP) in addressing non-compliance and implementing improvement plans.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for underperforming franchises and support franchise exits as needed.
  • Drive the adoption of technology platforms, including HubSpot and RAMCO, to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate on supplier partnerships to expand franchise service offerings, measured by franchise-generated revenue growth.
  • Ensure franchisees are equipped for multi-state expansion and other growth opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to refine and execute franchise development strategies.
  • Support franchise advisory meetings and strategic training initiatives.
  • Develop metrics-driven programs to improve franchise NPS (Net Promoter Score) and overall satisfaction.

 

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 7+ years of franchise experience, with 5+ years in franchise development or vendor management.
  • Proven success in franchise program development with measurable results.
  • Familiarity with janitorial operations and ERP/CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, RAMCO).
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with a growth-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel quarterly or as needed.
