Role Description

Are you passionate about creating impactful educational materials for adult learners in the long-term care industry? Join our Curriculum and Training team as a Curriculum Developer, where you will plan, develop, and revise curriculum that supports regulatory compliance and effective program operations.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training materials align with current regulations, policies, and operational needs.
  • Provide consultative support to staff and subject-matter experts, helping translate complex requirements into clear, effective learning content.
  • Support ongoing professional development of staff and contribute to the continued success of our programs.

This position can be filled anywhere in Texas.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs)

  • Plan and develop complex educational materials for provider and agency professional staff using various software, following approved guidelines and processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership, program staff, policy staff, and field staff to develop training related to regulations and policies for assigned programs.
  • Identify instructional content and methodologies needed to support consistent program operations in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
  • Monitor state and federal laws, regulatory updates, and changes to policies, procedures, and handbooks to proactively identify curriculum development and revision needs. (45%)
  • Plan and implement curriculum revisions and updates using a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led training and online learning modules. (30%)
  • Review and evaluate curricula regularly as part of unit strategic planning. (10%)
  • Provide complex consultative assistance on federal and state rules and regulations and long-term care policies and procedures. (10%)
  • Represent the program in meetings and workgroups. (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws relating to long-term care programs.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and procedures relating to long-term care programs.
  • Knowledge of adult education principles.
  • Knowledge of group process, group dynamics and interpersonal relations.
  • Knowledge of instructional design.
  • Knowledge of facilitation and meeting leadership skills.
  • Skill in use of computer and software packages (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Blackboard Learn, SoftChalk, Articulate 360, etc.).
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to devise solutions to problems; to provide concise reports when asked; and to develop and evaluate complex materials.
  • Ability to evaluate objectives, requirements, and effectiveness of materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects with varying deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and to deal tactfully with professional personnel as well as the public.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policies and regulatory language.

Requirements

  • Experience developing curriculum required.
  • Experience with Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF/IID) or programs that regulate, operate, or support ICF/IID services preferred.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Long-Term Care Regulation (LTCR) regulatory programs required.
  • Experience developing training for professional or regulatory audiences required.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
