Role Description

Focus Partners Wealth is seeking an Advanced Planning Specialist to join our team! The Advanced Planning Specialist plays a key operational role within the Planning Department, working alongside financial planning experts to support internal initiatives and advisor-facing projects across the RIA and Advisor Solutions businesses. This role is ideal for an operations and growth-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and excels at managing systems, processes, workflows, projects, and resources. The successful candidate will work independently to identify workflow and operational efficiencies, lead and support projects, and help the team operate effectively in a virtual environment. They should be passionate about learning, continuous improvement, and approaching challenges with curiosity and problem-solving energy. This position also offers opportunities to deepen knowledge in advanced financial planning concepts and contribute to a positive, best in class thought leadership culture alongside leading industry professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in operations or project management preferred. Financial education or designations are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience managing software systems, project workflows, and operational support functions with a track record of creating efficiencies.
  • Strong experience in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and ability to quickly learn new software and virtual communication systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to support teams and manage project workflows effectively.
  • Proven ability to proactively and independently identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative and service oriented mindset, especially within a virtual team environment.
  • Familiarity with financial services, financial products, and financial planning concepts is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn, manage, and maintain workflow, communication, and knowledge sharing software.
  • High degree of organizational skill, both personally and in supporting team operations.

Requirements

  • Manage and maintain departmental knowledge bases, ticketing platforms, project management tools, and organizational systems, continuously identifying efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee the content calendar and associated workflow and distribution.
  • Partner with third party vendors as needed to support system management.
  • Oversee the organization, distribution, formatting, and maintenance of content generated by the Advanced Planning team.
  • Respond to and triage technical support tickets.
  • Collaborate with internal partners—including Marketing, Compliance, IT, and client facing planning teams—to support shared initiatives and workflows.
  • Provide operational support to Advanced Planning team members.
  • Oversee and delegate routine and annual content refresh cycles.
  • Manage communications, logistics, and workflows for presentations and webinars.
  • Support and/or lead additional projects, initiatives, and communications as needed.
  • Attend firm conferences and regional meetings as required.

Benefits

  • The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $80,000-$90,000 base salary compensation range.
  • Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set.
  • The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package.
  • Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
