About the Team
The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Washington is a K-12 tuition-free online public school in the state of Washington. At VPA Washington, we empower students to be their best by enabling them to learn in ways that are right for them – using innovative technology at home, at their proper level, and at their own pace.
The Occupational Therapist works with the school staff to coordinate and deliver Occupational Therapy services for qualifying students.
ELIGIBILITY: This position is open to residents of Washington
About the Opportunity
- Provide high-quality online Occupational therapy services to students according to the student’s IEPs
- Conduct OT evaluations and reevaluations as determined by the Special Education department
- Consult with teachers, other therapists, support staff, and families to facilitate classroom participation
- Development, monitor, and report on goals; determine needs, design interventions utilizing research-based best practices
- Provide clear clinical documentation that supports progress and growth of students towards their documented goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and other meetings as needed
- Adequately complete, in a timely manner, all paperwork for the District and the State
- Model professionalism in all situations maintaining confidentiality and privacy
- Continually develop professional growth in areas related to OT
- Follow all school policies and procedures
- Participating in training and meetings as needed
About You
- Washington issued Occupational Therapist license is required for this position
- Proficiency with computers and online documentation skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
- Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
- Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
- Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

The annual starting salary for this position is between $65,000 – $75,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
We offer the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually.
Paid Time Off: 10-month staff receive 7 days of paid time off annually.
We offer 4 unique health insurance plans to choose from that cover a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. Our goal is to provide you with maximum choice in finding a plan that meets you and your family’s needs. Three of the plans are PPO plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, and one of the plans is a High Deductible Plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage.
