Role Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled, motivated team player who will be responsible for supporting mainframe connectivity products such as:

• Communication Server
• Telnet
• Netview
• FTP
• Monitoring tools
• Session manager
• Off host consoles

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with vendors and third-party networks to establish EE connections and file transfer paths through proxy servers.
• Troubleshooting connectivity and response time issues between mainframe, distributed network, and external connections.
• Monitoring the mainframe network via automation tools and alerting the team, operations, and management of any outage or issue.
• Managing move/add/change requests securing connection with the mainframe via ATTLS and IPsec.
• Defining new IP ports, dvipas, and ddvipas, and coordinating new DNS reservations.
• Installing and applying maintenance to software products supported by the team.
• Supporting creation, distribution, and maintenance of certificates for various mainframe connectivity products.
• Ensuring consistency and availability for Wells Fargo and our customers in mainframe network production, development, and BCP environments.
• Researching and implementing new security enhancements, security remediation, and improving performance, availability, and redundancy.
• Training and mentoring junior team members.

In this role, you will:

• Lead or participate in high-level technical concepts spanning technology and business.
• Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design, and test solutions.
• Contribute to the testing of business, application, and technical infrastructure requirements.
• Drive solutions to reduce recovery.
• Design complex system upgrades.
• Resolve troublesome trends as they develop.
• Develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring.
• Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success.
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
• 4+ years of experience with z/OS Communication Server.
• 4+ years of network connectivity troubleshooting and trace experience.
• 4+ years of experience with IPsec and ATTLS policy.
• 4+ years of experience with OSA and firewall.

Requirements

• Experience with SMF reporting.
• Experience with OMVS, USS, ishell, ZFS.
• Experience with zERT.
• Experience with FTP(S), sFTP.
• Experience with TPX Session Manager.
• Experience with Netview.
• Experience with third-party console software.
• Experience with Telnet and 3270 emulation software.
• Experience with SMC-D and SMC-R.
• Experience with APPN and EE.
• Experience with socks5 proxy servers.
• Microsoft Office Suite Tools, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• 1+ year of Agile experience.
• REXX programming experience.
• 2+ years of experience with RACF.

Job Expectations

• Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to work on call as assigned.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed.
