Job Description

Description

The Fractional COO will provide high level operational leadership to support The Contractor Consultants’ rapid growth and executive scale-up. This role partners closely with the founders and CEO to strengthen governance, HR, legal coordination, and executive decision-making—enhancing existing systems rather than rebuilding them. The COO will expand leadership capacity during a critical growth phase as the company prepares for long-term scalability and potential investor or private equity engagement.

Skills

human resources, Executive operational support, Legal coordination, contracts management, governance, Talent acquisition

Key Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of executive operational leadership experience (COO, VP of Operations, Head of Operations)
  • Proven track record supporting founders and executive teams in high‑growth, fast‑paced environments
  • Demonstrated experience scaling organizations from startup stage to 300–500+ employees
  • Strong executive judgment and decision‑making across operations, HR, legal, and governance
  • Experience overseeing HR escalations, compliance, workforce risk, and sensitive people matters
  • Experience partnering with legal counsel on contracts, policies, and governance frameworks
  • Executive‑level collaboration with finance and CFO teams, including budgeting and headcount planning
  • Experience designing or refining compensation, incentive, bonus, and potential equity structures
  • Ability to balance speed with structure—adding governance without disrupting existing operations
  • Comfort operating in founder‑led, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving organizations
  • Experience in SaaS, technology platforms, marketplaces, or complex services strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with recruiting operations, staffing, or workforce services a plus
  • Experience leading fully remote, multi‑time‑zone teams
