- Understand and guide work across core datacenter activities such as hardware installation, cabling, cross-connects, power allocation, rack elevations, bills of material, validation, and deployment documentation.
- Support server and network deployments and contribute to tooling or automation requirements.
- Manage priorities across time zones, coordinating multiple parallel initiatives, and ensuring consistent execution against delivery commitments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex issues, support escalations, and continuously improve operational maturity.
- Invest in growing both technical capability and leadership capacity within the team.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead and execute effectively with a distributed team.
- 5+ years of direct involvement in supporting datacenter operations at an Internet Service Provider (ISP), hosting provider, or other datacenter-oriented position or equivalent.
- 3+ years leading a remote-friendly engineering or operations team.
- Expert-level knowledge of power and network cabling standards including but not limited to NEMA, IEC, and/or ANSI/TIA.

- Expertise with hardware from HPE, Dell, Arista, and/or Cisco.

- Able to read and write English installation documentation (documents/drawings/spreadsheets).
- Knowledge of safe working practices (e.g., familiar with proper tool safety, eye protection, ladder safety, etc.) and able to document practices.
- Able to work days/nights/weekends/holidays, if needed and/or required.
- Able to travel up to 15% of the time.
- An innate curiosity and inquisitiveness.
Requirements
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Datacenter Engineers.
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance across day-to-day datacenter operations, planning, and execution.
- Own team execution and operational readiness by reviewing daily reports and proactively identifying risk and capacity constraints.
- Oversee tooling, documentation, and process rigor.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure, hardware, and system issues.
- Partner closely with Capacity Planning, Procurement, Technical Project Managers, and Infrastructure Acquisition teams.
- Provide strategic oversight and accountability for network connectivity.
- Drive adoption of automation to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
- Partner with Engineering to automate hardware validation and acceptance testing.
- Define and maintain validation frameworks for network connectivity and hardware health.
- Own the end-to-end circuit lifecycle.
Benefits
