Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Azure Cloud Engineer to help design, automate, and secure BeneLynk’s cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable Azure environments while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory frameworks such as HITRUST and HIPAA.

• Automate infrastructure deployments, improve platform reliability, and implement modern cloud architecture patterns.
• Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency, and operational resilience across our cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, development, and data teams to support cloud initiatives and drive automation.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance operational efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate troubleshooting.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical assistance, answering questions and resolving cloud infrastructure-related issues.
• Design cloud architectures, write automation scripts, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Report directly to the VP of IT Operations and contribute to the automation and evolution of BeneLynk’s cloud platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university in Information Technology or related field; or a minimum of four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform including:
  • Azure compute services (Virtual Machines, App Services, Containers)
  • Azure networking (VNets, Private Endpoints, Application Gateways, Firewalls)
  • Azure data services (SQL, Storage Accounts, Data Factory)
  • Azure identity and access management (Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, RBAC)
  • Azure monitoring and observability (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Demonstrated experience building PowerShell scripts used in production environments.
• Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM Templates).
• Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA / HITRUST preferred).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and with others.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Requirements

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure and services in a secure and scalable manner.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and operational processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Develop and maintain production-grade PowerShell automation.
• Design and implement secure Azure networking architectures.
• Enforce Azure Security best practices aligned with HIPAA and HITRUST frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cloud performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Analyze Azure usage patterns and recommend cost optimization strategies.
• Diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Implement tagging, governance policies, and cost management strategies across Azure environments.
• Collaborate with development, production support, and data teams.
• Monitor cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Investigate and respond to alerts, operational incidents, and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Leverage AI-powered engineering tools and copilots.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for cloud infrastructure and services.
• Research and recommend new cloud technologies and best practices.
• Ensure Azure Cloud and Office 365 configuration policies are enforced properly.
• Build monitoring dashboards and alerts.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in designing and implementing secure Azure architectures.
• Perform health and performance assessments of internal processes and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
