Role Description

The Director, Virtual Care Center is responsible for leading the strategic development, operational execution, and continuous improvement of Alignment Healthcare’s Virtual Care Center. This role ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered virtual care services that align with organizational goals for access, efficiency, and clinical outcomes.

  • Develop and implement the Virtual Care Center strategy to enhance patient access and experience.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource allocation for virtual care services.
  • Drive performance metrics related to patient satisfaction, clinical quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and clinical leadership to optimize telehealth platforms and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, privacy, and security requirements for virtual care delivery.
  • Manage budget planning, forecasting, and cost control for the Virtual Care Center.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to support virtual care initiatives.
  • Collaborate with providers, care teams, and leadership to integrate virtual care into broader clinical programs.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees assigned staff, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Assign workload, plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
  • Coaching, counseling, and performance management.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related discipline.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Required: Minimum 7 years in healthcare operations, with at least 3 years in telehealth or virtual care leadership.
    • Preferred: Experience in managed care or integrated delivery systems.
  • Training:
    • Required: Leadership and operational management training.
    • Preferred: Telehealth technology and compliance training.
  • Specialized Skills:
    • Required: Strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills; proficiency in telehealth platforms; knowledge of regulatory compliance.
    • Preferred: Data analytics and performance improvement expertise.
  • Licensure:
    • Required: None.
    • Preferred: RN or clinical licensure a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $98,550.00 - $147,825.00. Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
