Job Description
Position Overview:
The Personnel Security & Credentialing Specialist supports Anovaeon’s operational programs by managing personnel security processes, credentialing requirements, and onboarding procedures associated with federal facility access and background investigations.
This role works closely with program leadership, human resources, and government security personnel to ensure employees complete required background investigations, credentialing steps, and security documentation necessary for facility access and program participation.
The Personnel Security & Credentialing Specialist plays a key role in supporting rapid onboarding while ensuring compliance with government security requirements and facility access procedures.
Essential Functions:
Personnel Security Processing
- Coordinate background investigation and personnel security processing for program staff
- Assist employees in completing required security documentation and investigation forms
- Review personnel security submissions for accuracy and completeness before submission
- Track the status of background investigations and security approvals
- Communicate investigation updates and requirements to employees and leadership
Credentialing & Facility Access
- Coordinate facility badging, credentialing, and access authorization processes
- Ensure employees complete required documentation to obtain facility access credentials
- Track issuance and expiration of facility badges and credentials
- Coordinate with facility security personnel to support credentialing appointments and badge issuance
- Maintain records related to facility access authorizations and credentialing requirements
Onboarding Security Support
- Support onboarding processes related to security and credentialing requirements
- Ensure new employees understand required background investigation and credentialing steps
- Assist employees in completing required documentation during onboarding
- Coordinate with HR and operational leadership to ensure employees meet all access requirements prior to site deployment
Security Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of personnel security processing and credentialing activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable government security policies and facility access procedures
- Safeguard sensitive personnel information in accordance with privacy and security requirements
- Maintain organized documentation related to personnel security and credentialing processes
Coordination with Government Security Personnel
- Serve as a liaison between Anovaeon staff and government security personnel regarding credentialing requirements
- Coordinate with facility security offices to resolve access issues or credentialing delays
- Support communication between operational leadership and government security officials regarding personnel access matters
Reporting & Tracking
- Maintain tracking systems for background investigations, credentialing status, and access approvals
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding onboarding progress and personnel security status
- Identify potential delays in credentialing or investigation processes and escalate concerns as appropriate
Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with personnel security processing and credentialing procedures
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills
- Ability to track multiple personnel security cases simultaneously
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Strong communication skills when assisting employees through security processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive personnel information
- Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience supporting personnel security, credentialing, onboarding, or government program administration
- Experience working with background investigations, facility access procedures, or personnel credentialing preferred
- Experience supporting federal programs or secure facility environments strongly preferred
Preferred Experience
- Experience coordinating personnel security processing for government programs
- Experience working with facility badging systems or access control programs
Requirements of Employment
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the following screening:
- Federal background investigation (up to and including a Tier 4 DHS clearance)
- Criminal history check
- Verification of employment and education history
- Compliance with all government credentialing requirements
- Drug screening
- Employees must adhere to all federal security, confidentiality, and operational protocols while working within government facilities.
Work Environment
- Primarily remote or corporate-level support role with periodic travel to operational sites
- Initial support may include on-site presence during program start up
- Standard administrative office and processing facility environment
- May involve extended periods of computer work and documentation processing
- Fast-paced operational environment requiring attention to detail and professionalism
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while conducting data entry and interviews
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility operations (up to 8-12 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Capability to work in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, temperature variations)
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility
- Visual acuity for detailed computer work and document review
- Auditory ability to conduct interviews and monitor facility for safety concerns
