Role Description
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the architecture and optimization of advanced network observability and cybersecurity solutions within a large-scale enterprise environment. You will design and implement high-performance network monitoring infrastructures, integrating packet broker technologies with security and analytics platforms. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure reliable traffic visibility, enhanced threat detection, and scalable system performance across distributed environments.
- Architect and implement advanced network observability solutions using Keysight Ixia packet broker technologies.
- Design configurations to aggregate, filter, and distribute network traffic efficiently to monitoring and security platforms.
- Lead integrations between network infrastructure and security tools such as Splunk, ForeScout, and intrusion prevention systems to strengthen threat detection capabilities.
- Manage clustering, port mapping, licensing, and SSL certificate configurations for packet broker appliances.
- Collaborate with incident management and monitoring teams to ensure accurate telemetry flows and optimized network performance.
- Maintain and update monitoring architecture documentation, service registries, and configuration records.
- Define and monitor service-level metrics and KPIs related to critical infrastructure components and business transactions.
- Support infrastructure refresh and upgrade initiatives involving network observability and security platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on architectural standards, security compliance, and operational best practices.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven expertise configuring and managing Keysight Ixia packet brokers (e.g., Vision ONE, Vision X, Ixia Fabric Controller).
- Strong knowledge of network observability, telemetry pipelines, hybrid cloud environments, and enterprise network security architectures.
- Experience integrating monitoring and security platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ForeScout, and ServiceNow.
- Hands-on experience with network performance monitoring, packet analysis, and traffic optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with TLS/SSL remediation, network security frameworks, and enterprise compliance standards.
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Experience supporting federal healthcare or government IT environments, knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, and familiarity with tools such as Palo Alto IPS, NetScout, and Keysight TAPs.
- Ability to pass a Tier 4 / High-level background investigation.
