Role Description

Auria is looking to hire a PART-TIME Software Engineering Intern to join our Commercial & Public Sector (CPS) team, where you’ll work alongside experienced engineers building real products used in aerospace and national security missions. This role is remote with preference for candidates in Colorado or Washington, DC Metro Area.

This is not a “shadow and observe” internship. You’ll contribute directly to production software, collaborate with a high-performing engineering team, and gain exposure to modern development practices used in real-world mission systems. If you're passionate about building software, solving complex technical problems, and learning from engineers working at the forefront of space technology, we'd love to meet you.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work with our engineering team to design, build, and improve software used in operational systems. Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing software using C#, .NET, React, and Python
  • Contributing to front-end and back-end development for web-based applications
  • Designing and implementing new features in collaboration with senior engineers
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Developing and executing automated tests to ensure software quality
  • Investigating and resolving software defects and performance issues
  • Participating in agile development activities including sprint planning and code reviews
  • Learning modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and version control workflows

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Interest in building modern software systems and learning industry best practices
  • Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment

Requirements

  • Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world

Preferences

  • Object-oriented software development, C# / .NET development, JavaScript or TypeScript with React, SQL and relational database design
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  • Interest in aerospace, space systems, or mission software

Pay Transparency

The wage offered will be based on the selected candidate’s college year. $22/hr. - $33/hr.

Application Deadline

March 13, 2026
