Role Description

JM Services and Consulting, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. As a Copy Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing various written materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, perfect for someone looking for a work-life balance.

  • Review and edit a variety of written materials, including articles, reports, press releases, marketing materials, and more
  • Ensure all written materials adhere to company style and branding guidelines
  • Check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
  • Fact-check information and sources to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with writers and other team members to improve the overall quality of written materials
  • Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve their writing skills
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in language usage

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a copy editor or similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors
  • Proficient in using editing and proofreading tools
  • Familiarity with AP Style and other style guides
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of SEO and online content best practices is a plus
