Role Description

This role involves owning and supporting certain export/import licensing and compliance activities for a varied portfolio of programs within Raytheon's Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU).

  • Assist with the development of export authorization strategies for international marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement, and manufacturing of defense and dual-use articles.
  • Prepare and submit quality export/import license applications, agreements, eligible exemptions/exceptions, and other requests for USG approval.
  • Provide export/import authorization status updates to leadership and capture/program teams.
  • Participate in strategic business engagement at the program level to ensure business execution, growth, and compliance.
  • Provide consistent interpretation of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to LADS employees.
  • Facilitate approvals for the physical export/import of hardware and other transactional activities involving controlled goods, information, and services.
  • Work with peers and stakeholders to determine and certify appropriate legal authority for exports of dual-use commodities and technology, defense articles; hardware, technical data, and defense services.
  • Represent Global Trade in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in implementation of company procedures and instructions to support compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and company policy.
  • Participate in compliance assessments and investigations.
  • Develop and deliver training for employees engaged in international business activities.
  • Review and approve technical and non-technical information, as needed prior to release to non-U.S. Persons.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Experience with ITAR and/or EAR regulations.
  • Experience with DECCS, SNAP-R, SAP-GT, OCR EASE or similar Global Trade tools and/or systems.

  • Experience applying for, managing, and transacting against ITAR and EAR export authorizations.
  • Flexible, cooperative, and collaborative to adapt to changing U.S. Government and customer requirements.
  • Problem solver to present recommendations to solve business challenges and address situations before issues arise.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented to make and drive decisions and work under time-sensitive circumstances managing priorities of multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and follow through on assignments to achieve desired results.
  • Relevant advanced Degrees such as Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Business (MBA), or Masters in International or Legal Studies.
