Job Description

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for advanced Homeowner's Claims. Determines coverage, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for homeowners first party claims leading to the proper disposition.

National General is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Property Adjuster to join our team! We’re looking for someone who brings not only strong technical ability, but also the professionalism and customer focused mindset needed to deliver an exceptional claims experience. The ideal candidate will have prior insurance carrier property field experience, strong proficiency in Xactimate, and active TX/LA licenses (or licenses in reciprocal states). This role requires someone who can independently write estimates and supplements in a field environment while maintaining accuracy, detail, and sound judgment. A solid understanding of wind and hail damage is essential, along with the ability to negotiate effectively and adapt in a fast‑paced setting. To best support our footprint, candidates must reside in the Shreveport or West Monroe area, as this position will handle Northern Louisiana and East Texas claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Builds functional relationships with both internal and external customers

• Applies a sound understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices

• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within authority limits

• Demonstrates sound understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company

• Demonstrates proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on advanced first party homeowners claims

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is:
Field Property Cons I: $53,500.00 - 77,800.00/salary
Field Property Cons II: $56,000.00 - 82,500.00/salary
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role may include additional components, such as incentive pay (for example, commission or bonus), if applicable.
