Role Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the visual and experiential design of large-scale events, ensuring every element aligns with a creative vision that delights and engages audiences. You will manage the full lifecycle of event design, from concept and technical drawings to onsite artistic direction, collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and freelance resources. As a mentor, you will guide other designers and interns while contributing to the creative evolution of the organization. The position demands a combination of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and leadership in fast-paced, dynamic environments. You will influence high-profile projects, working across multiple event elements such as stages, activations, installations, and hospitality areas. This role requires someone passionate about design, innovation, and delivering memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression. Remote work flexibility is available, with travel to events as needed.

  • Lead the overall look and feel of events, ensuring cohesive, high-impact design execution.
  • Produce technical drawings, site layouts, and build plans for all event elements.
  • Oversee decor sourcing, material selection, and vendor direction to meet design standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and interns on the team.
  • Manage the build process and onsite artistic direction to ensure fidelity to design concepts.
  • Collaborate with producers and cross-functional teams to maintain consistent creative direction.
  • Coordinate and execute design elements for entrances, stages, activations, installations, lounges, and other event spaces.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on creative leadership experience as an Art Director or similar artistic role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing event design and creative execution.
  • Experience in integrated marketing, experiential events, and graphic design.
  • Proven ability to work with corporate clients, including Fortune 100 organizations.
  • Freelance or client relationship experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong urgency and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cultivating creative teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing priorities.
