This is a long-term opportunity on a federally funded contract.

  • Review incoming FOIA/PA requests to locate responsive documentation within acquisition files.

  • Prepare draft responses to appeals, fee waivers, and litigation-related documents for Government review.
  • Coordinate timely responses to Congressional inquiries and public requests for acquisition-related information.
  • Maintain and update FOIA tracking databases, ensuring accurate records of all requests.
  • Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and handle sensitive records in compliance with federal law and DHS policy.
  • Alert Government personnel to potentially controversial requests requiring special coordination.
  • Assist in developing and updating agency FOIA guidance and procedural documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. A degree in Business, Information Management, Contracting, or Law is preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of documented experience as a FOIA Specialist, Paralegal, or in a similar role involving federal transparency laws.
  • In lieu of a degree, six (6) years of relevant federal procurement or private-sector transparency experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FOIA, and Privacy Act.
  • Proven experience reviewing contract files or government documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • High proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Requirements

  • Experience working within DHS or another federal law enforcement agency.
  • Experience managing procurement-sensitive or law enforcement-sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of government contract-writing systems (e.g., PRISM).

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work on mission-critical projects supporting national security.
  • Professional development and a clear career path.
