Role Description
This role involves maintaining critical sterile processing equipment, ensuring peak performance in a hospital setting.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on washers, sterilizers, and related systems—STERIS and competitor models.
- Own your schedule: PMs, service and warranty calls, equipment installs, and field upgrades, prioritized around Customer and business needs.
- Partner with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to escalate complex issues, meet compliance documentation, and close out tickets using advanced platforms.
- Present repair options and costs; with manager support, collaborate with Sales to enhance Customer experience and spot revenue opportunities.
- Support multiple facilities across your assigned territory based on service agreements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED plus 4+ years’ work experience, including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical role.
- Associate’s degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain existing and new vendor credentialing requirements.
- Customer and team engagement skills; clear written and verbal communication.
- Basic computer ability: Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps, and multi-system data entry.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overnights, to meet Customer/business needs.
- Ability to comply with hospital/Customer credentialing requirements.
Requirements
- Hands-on problem solver who enjoys working independently with team backup when needed.
- Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanics, maintenance, boilers/chillers, aviation, diesel/auto repair, or similar trades.
- Comfortable speaking with clinical staff, explaining options and pricing, and documenting work in mobile tools.
