Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Mobile Automation Consultant to architect and scale our native mobile automation strategy across iOS and Android platforms. This is a highly autonomous role requiring someone who can define structure, implement best practices, and build a robust automation ecosystem alongside active product development.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with Appium for native applications, a proven ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments, and recent experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate and modernize test development.

Mobile quality is critical to product velocity and customer trust. This role will directly influence release confidence, regression risk, and development speed. By building a scalable, intelligent automation framework and clearly communicating automation health to both engineering and business stakeholders, this consultant will elevate quality from a reactive function to a strategic advantage.

• Architect and implement a scalable automation framework for native iOS and Android applications using Appium.
• Define automation strategy, coverage standards, and best practices while operating independently and influencing engineering teams.
• Build and expand test coverage in parallel with feature development to ensure automation keeps pace with product evolution.
• Partner closely with developers to improve testability and reduce regression risk.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation, improve resilience, and optimize suite maintenance.
• Continuously refactor and optimize the test suite to improve execution speed, stability, and reliability.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, high-confidence releases.
• Design and maintain business-facing dashboards and reporting that clearly communicate coverage, stability trends, execution performance, and quality KPIs to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of test automation experience in native mobile automation specifically utilizing Appium for native iOS and Android.
• Proven experience independently designing and scaling automation frameworks in production environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create and present business-facing analytics and reporting on test coverage, stability, and performance metrics.
• Strong expertise in improving suite reliability, reducing flakiness, and optimizing execution speed.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously while staying tightly aligned with development teams.

Requirements

• Experience leveraging AI tools to build, expand, or optimize automated test suites.
• Experience optimizing large automation suites for parallel execution and faster feedback cycles.
• Experience with cloud-based mobile device platforms (e.g. BrowserStack).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Gitlab, GitHub Actions.
