Role Description

A24 is looking for a part-time, remote intern to support the Film Production Finance team -- must be available up to 15 hours per week. This internship is remote and we're open to candidates from any location in the US.

  • Assist in the set-up of various project specific systems including but not limited to payroll, accounting, p-card and various other finance related production infrastructure
  • Accounts payable entry, including Purchase Order entry, obtaining appropriate approvals for payment, ensuring backup documentation supports payment, setting up check runs, and maintaining proper files.
  • Prep and Post production payroll, including timecard review, obtaining start paperwork, sending all necessary documents to the payroll company, reviewing payroll edits, paying payroll invoices, downloading payroll to the production accounting system so it is accurately reflected in the cost report. Maintaining proper payroll files, and booking various vacation & holiday pay etc.
  • Petty cash / Cashet card reconciliation and other journal entries including deposits and tax credit returns
  • Bank account reconciliation and trial balance clean up
  • Cost reporting, including preparing Cost Reports and tracking variances
  • Tax credit audits, including pulling files, copying/scanning files, journals, research, and working with Auditors and State Revenue Departments.
  • Settling outstanding receivables billed back to studio
  • Miscellaneous ad-hoc corporate accounting projects as needed including corporate payables, receivables, expense reports, and production related residuals, participations, delivery requirements, and various reconciliations

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of Production Accounting experience
  • Knowledge/experience working with production accounting software, Movie Magic Budgeting, and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • An excellent communicator who is able to communicate both in writing and verbally with multiple, different personalities
  • Motivated, eager to handle day to day responsibilities, coordinate audits, and resolve any potential production budgetary questions
  • Proactive attitude with no task too large or too small
  • Humble, diligent and resourceful
