Job Description
Role Description
At Monarch, we’ve built a product that our users love. Now, we’re focused on helping more people discover it, sign up, and successfully get onboarded.
As a Senior Software Engineer on our Growth team, you’ll play a key role in expanding Monarch’s reach and helping more households take control of their financial lives. You’ll lead technical execution across projects that drive user acquisition, activation, and retention and collaborate closely with teammates across engineering, product, marketing, and design.
Our goal is ambitious: to become every household’s financial operating system — the one-stop platform for everything related to finances. If you’re excited to combine data, experimentation, and great engineering to deliver meaningful impact, we’d love to have you on the journey.
- Collaborate and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on, executing roadmap initiatives.
- Drive technical execution for growth initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, marketers, and data analysts to improve acquisition, onboarding, and retention flows.
- Design and implement systems to support A/B testing and rapid experimentation.
- Analyze data and user behavior to inform technical decisions and refine growth strategies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Balance technical debt with feature development to ensure sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience leading the feasibility and execution of complex projects.
- Technical vision and ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural goals.
- Strong product intuition and a passion for building consumer experiences users love, backed by strong quantitative and qualitative understanding of product experiences.
- Experience leveraging and extending A/B testing frameworks, experimentation infrastructure, and robust internal analytics.
- Bias towards action, and good instinct to decide on the appropriate level of rigor/effort for experiments (when to cut corners, when to invest for the future).
- Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical colleagues (including marketing, product, design, and data science).
Requirements
- Experience building consumer subscription or SAAS products.
- Prior fintech experience.
- Experience with analytics tooling including Segment or Amplitude.
- Experience with billing systems.
Benefits
- Work wherever you want! As a fully remote company with no central office, we want you to work wherever you are happiest and most productive.
- Competitive cash and equity compensation in a hyper growth, early stage company.
- Stipend to set-up your ideal working environment.
- Competitive Benefit Plans for employees based on your location (e.g. in the US we offer: Medical, dental and vision benefits and the ability to contribute to a 401k plan).
- Unlimited PTO.
- 3 day weekend every month! We take off the “First Friday” every month to focus on rest, recuperation, or just having fun!
- We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
