Role Description
This position involves driving the identification, acquisition, and development of large-scale energy projects that accelerate the deployment of long-duration energy storage solutions.
- Lead the evaluation, acquisition, and development of energy projects, including site visits, technical and commercial due diligence, and data room analysis
- Develop and apply project scoring frameworks to prioritize opportunities based on strategic fit, economics, development stage, and market access
- Structure and negotiate project acquisition agreements, development contracts, and partnership arrangements
- Manage the full development lifecycle of acquired projects, including permitting, interconnection, land rights, and regulatory processes
- Oversee external consultants, engineers, and legal advisors to ensure timely and high-quality project execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with renewable developers, IPPs, and project owners to source high-quality opportunities
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure project feasibility, alignment, and execution
- Track budgets, schedules, risks, and development milestones while providing regular pipeline updates to leadership
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with direct involvement in project acquisition, M&A, or development partnerships
- Proven track record of successfully developing and acquiring utility-scale renewable or energy storage projects
- Strong commercial acumen, including project valuation, financial modeling, risk assessment, and deal structuring
- Experience negotiating MIPAs, asset purchase agreements, development agreements, and related transaction documents
- Solid understanding of permitting, interconnection, land acquisition, and offtake processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and counterparties simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Experience in energy storage, infrastructure finance, or high-growth environments is a strong plus
