Job Description
About the role:
We’re looking for a Head of Design to own and elevate the end-to-end product experience across Franki — including our consumer app, creator tools, rewards & fintech experiences, and business-facing products.
This is both a craft-driven and strategic leadership role. You’ll set the design vision, lead the team, shape the systems, and ensure every part of the Franki ecosystem feels unified, intuitive, and delightful. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to drive activation, engagement, retention, and transaction growth across mobile and web.
Your work will shape how people discover restaurants they love, earn meaningful rewards, create content, and navigate a growing platform that scales across devices and partners. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love 0→1 challenges, and have a track record of shipping high-quality consumer experiences — this role is for you.
What you’ll Do:
Lead and Scale the Design Function
- Build and mentor a high-performing design team spanning product design, visual design, and research.
- Establish repeatable design processes that support rapid iteration.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product & Engineering to shape roadmaps and define design requirements.
- Build a culture of craft, critique, feedback, and collaboration.
Own the End-to-End Consumer Experience
- Lead UX across our consumer app and business portal.
- Improve activation, first purchase conversion, and repeat purchase behavior.
- Conduct user research, usability tests, and data-informed discovery.
- Translate qualitative + quantitative insights into clear design direction.
Build and Maintain a Unified Design System
- Own the design system that powers Franki across mobile and web.
- Drive consistency in components, interaction patterns, and UI standards.
- Partner with Brand to align product visuals with our identity.
- Ensure best practices around accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.
Design for a Cross-Platform Future (Mobile + Web)
- Lead design for the expansion of our web platform experience.
- Translate mobile-first patterns into scalable, performant web frameworks.
- Support partner integrations and cross-platform behaviors.
- Ensure coherence across consumer, business, creator, and partner surfaces.
Elevate Business & Creator Tools
- Oversee UX for the Business Portal, Franki+ onboarding, analytics dashboards, and promotional tools.
- Design intuitive tools for managing cashback, budgets, insights, and promotions.
- Lead design for creator posting flows, templates, and content tools that increase quality and volume.
- Simplify complex data into actionable, human-friendly interfaces.
You’re a good fit if you have…
- 7–12 years of product design experience, including 3+ years leading or managing design teams.
- Proven experience designing and shipping consumer mobile apps at scale.
- Mastery of mobile UX, IA, interaction design, and user research.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Excellence in visual design craft and prototyping.
- Ability to drive 0→1 product work and iterate quickly.
- Experience with social, content, marketplace, rewards, or fintech experiences (a plus).
- Comfort working with engineering and data science partners.
- A portfolio demonstrating deep craft, systems thinking, and shipped products.
You’ll thrive here if you…
- Love operating in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments.
- Can zoom between hands-on design and strategic direction.
- Are energized by ambiguity and iterative problem solving.
- Use data, research, and intuition together to make decisions.
- Value collaboration, transparency, and team empowerment.
- Bring positive energy, curiosity, and a user-first mindset to every challenge.
Why Join Franki...
- Own the design vision of a growing consumer brand.
- Shape how millions of people discover and enjoy local restaurants.
- Build a design culture from the ground up.
- Collaborate with a high-trust, high-impact team.
- Move fast, test ideas, and lead with creativity.
- Competitive compensation and 100% covered healthcare, dental, and vision for employees.

- PTO: 15 days per year + company-wide winter break (Dec 25–31) + 11 public holidays.
