Job Description

• Manage and support litigation cases and pre-litigation matters, including property and casualty, property damage, auto and transportation and commercial liability cases. • Assist with document production and witness preparation for depositions and trials and support paralegal responsible for subpoena function. • Monitor litigation and pre-litigation matters, prepare periodic status updates, internal reports, and strategic recommendations. • Draft effective legal memoranda and litigation related documents such as settlement agreements and releases, discovery and production related documents, and responses to complaints. • Stay updated on relevant developments and changes in insurance law, litigation trends and industry regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state
  • 3+ years of litigation experience (law firm or in-house or a combination) handling pre-litigation and litigation insurance defense matters, in property and casualty, auto and transportation and/or commercial liability.
  • Employment litigation experience a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in the subject matter—insurance law and the regulatory framework governing the Property & Casualty, Auto, and Commercial insurance sectors.
  • Exceptional litigation skills, including experience with witness preparation, depositions, discovery procedures, and non-party requests for production and testimony.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies and coverage issues, third party administrator roles and responsibilities, and claims handling processes.
  • Skilled at negotiating with experience handling settlement discussions and resolving disputes favorably for the company and its clients.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate legal risks, with a strong focus on litigation avoidance and cost-effective case management.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
