Job Description
Role Description
Spotify is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join the Spotify Advertising Team. Our teams are responsible for building and maintaining critical systems that power advertising data, brand safety, content review, and AI-driven ad experiences across Spotify.
We are looking for engineers who are motivated by user and business problems as much as technical challenges, and who enjoy ambiguity, brainstorming, experimentation, and iteration. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, business partners, and leadership to build impactful solutions for Spotify listeners, advertisers, and creators.
What You'll Do
- Build, maintain, and evolve backend & frontend services/APIs/Automations that support advertising data platforms, content and ad categorization, and AI-powered initiatives.
- Lead development on front-end products owned by the squad, including tools for moderation, review, and advertiser-facing workflows.
- Deliver UX optimizations that improve ad and content review efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering squads across Spotify to provide high-quality data solutions, shared knowledge, and best practices.
Qualifications
- You are an experienced Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of professional experience.
- You have experience building and maintaining APIs and services at scale.
- You have strong experience with Java and Spring.
- You have strong experience with JavaScript. Additional experience with tools and technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, NextJS, and GraphQL are a plus.
- You have some experience with data engineering concepts and tools (e.g., Scala, large-scale data pipelines).
- You have experience with GCP, distributed systems, machine learning platforms, or generative AI integrations.
- You have a strong grasp of design patterns, data structures, and distributed and web architectures.
- You care deeply about observability, reliability, and quality, and you apply engineering best practices including testing automation.
- You have experience leading or contributing to large codebase refactors, including microservices or micro-frontend architectures.
- You are autonomous, take ownership of your work, and actively drive your personal growth.
- You value team success over personal success and enjoy uplifting and mentoring other engineers.
- You are a strong communicator and empathetic collaborator who can anticipate partner needs and work effectively across disciplines.
Benefits
- Health insurance
- Six month paid parental leave
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Monthly meal allowance
- 23 paid days off
- 13 paid flexible holidays
