Role Description
Seeking an experienced Report Data Architect to design and maintain enterprise reporting data models and architecture frameworks supporting KPIs, dashboards, operational reporting, and advanced analytics.
This role will collaborate closely with enterprise architects, data engineers, reporting teams, and business stakeholders to develop scalable data solutions aligned with modernization initiatives and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Modeling

Design and maintain reporting data models, including:
- Fact and dimension structures
- Star and snowflake schemas
- Semantic layers
- Reporting datasets
- Define and document data architecture standards and best practices
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting data structures
- Design data flows to support ETL/ELT processes
- Ensure reporting models support business KPIs and analytics needs

Design and maintain reporting data models, including:

Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with IT, business, governance, and reporting teams to align data strategy
- Ensure consistent KPI definitions, metrics, and calculations across the organization

Establish and enforce governance standards including:
- Naming conventions
- Metadata standards
- Documentation requirements
- Support security, privacy, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Provide mentorship to report developers and analysts

Reporting & BI Enablement
- Support creation of reusable data assets for BI tools such as Power BI and similar platforms
- Work with business units to define reporting and analytical goals
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting environments
- Troubleshoot complex data issues and provide architectural guidance
Qualifications
- 8+ years strong experience in data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema, semantic modeling)
- 6+ years hands-on experience with enterprise reporting platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar)
- 8+ years translating business requirements into technical data structures
- 8+ years interpreting data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation
- 6+ years familiarity with KPI design, business metrics, and analytical methodologies
- 4+ years knowledge of data governance frameworks and metadata management
- 6+ years experience working in fast-paced environments, meeting project deadlines, and exercising sound judgment
- 2+ years strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, including negotiation and cross-functional collaboration
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
Requirements
- 3+ years familiarity with mainframe systems (IMS, COBOL files, JCL, batch processes)
- 2+ years knowledge of local, state, and federal data governance and privacy regulations (PII)
- 5+ years experience supporting legacy-to-modern system migration initiatives
- Experience leading data-focused modernization projects
