Role Description

Join Amgen’s Mission of Serving Patients. In this vital role you will serve as the “COO” of multiple Research Project Teams, ensuring the program has a high-performing operating process that aligns team execution tactics with program strategy.

  • Lead without authority across a matrix environment
  • Own the fundamentals: cross-functional meeting management, agendas, minutes, decisions/actions
  • Build integrated project plans and Gantt charts
  • Bring awareness of risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Enable high-quality decision-making, governance readiness, and execution
  • Serve as the program’s collaboration management lead for partnered programs
  • Ensure effective joint governance and delivery of partnership obligations

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience

Requirements

  • 6+ years in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced life science degree or equivalent experience
  • Drug Development knowledge with understanding of activities within Research and Development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp knowledge of multiple disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence without authority
  • Understanding of intellectual property
