Role Description
Join Amgen’s Mission of Serving Patients. In this vital role you will serve as the “COO” of multiple Research Project Teams, ensuring the program has a high-performing operating process that aligns team execution tactics with program strategy.
- Lead without authority across a matrix environment
- Own the fundamentals: cross-functional meeting management, agendas, minutes, decisions/actions
- Build integrated project plans and Gantt charts
- Bring awareness of risks, issues, and dependencies
- Enable high-quality decision-making, governance readiness, and execution
- Serve as the program’s collaboration management lead for partnered programs
- Ensure effective joint governance and delivery of partnership obligations
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience
Requirements
- 6+ years in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry
- Advanced life science degree or equivalent experience
- Drug Development knowledge with understanding of activities within Research and Development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
- Strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization
- Demonstrated ability to grasp knowledge of multiple disciplines
- Strong leadership skills with ability to influence without authority
- Understanding of intellectual property
