Role Description
As Legal Counsel, you will serve as a strategic advisor and legal partner to the organization, supporting operations across five states and guiding leadership through complex legal landscapes.

Lead Contract Negotiations
- Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and service providers.
- Draft, review, and revise legal agreements including employment contracts, NDAs, and service agreements.
- Ensure contracts are compliant and aligned with organizational goals.

Ensure Employment Law Compliance
- Provide legal counsel on employment law matters across NY, CO, NJ, CA, and NV.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal policies.
- Support HR and operations in resolving employee relations issues and investigations.

Support Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborate with C-level executives and cross-functional teams to align legal strategy with business objectives.
- Advise on union prevention, audit compliance, and risk management initiatives.

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one of the following states: NY, CO, NJ, CA, NV.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in corporate law, with a strong emphasis on contract negotiation and employment law.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-state legal matters.
- Experience in healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site operations is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments.
Requirements
- General schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, adaptive to the needs of the business.
- Fully remote with some travel.
Salary
- Annual salary of $200,000 to $225,000 plus an annual discretionary bonus.

Job Requirements
