In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading the Sourcing commodity strategy for internal and external equipment for high voltage electrical installation projects. This role is responsible for achieving a highly competitive bid environment via supplier identification, development and selection, contract price and terms negotiations, market analysis and risk management to ensure cost effective and reliable supply chain for GEV.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies to meet GSI NAM Project needs ensuring cost, quality and delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate and manage supplier relationships. 
  • Track market trends, commodity prices and risks to implement buy strategies.
  • Partner with Engineering and Supplier Quality team to assess, and qualify new suppliers
  • Negotiate master supply agreements as well as project-specific agreements for equipment and material
  • Work closely with Tender Sourcing Leaders on commercial bids to align on commodity strategy, ensuring supplier evaluation and selection is completed in tender stage.
  • Implement operating rhythm for continuous improvement, accountability, and efficiency in supplier engagement in Execution
  • Drive KPIs:  Deflation, DTP, Quality, Compliance, OTD
  • Source and develop certified minority, veteran-owned, women-owned, and small business suppliers to achieve customer requirements
  • Ensure compliance with GE sourcing policies and procedures

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing category management in manufacturing industry or project environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with contracting and negotiation of equipment and material 
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or technical discipline or MBA
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver results on time and in budget
  • Experience in sourcing or supply chain in a high voltage electrical construction project environment 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills  
  • Able to develop a strategy and drive execution in a matrixed environment

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $94,600.00 and $157,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
