Role Description
Leverage your love of history and research to help provide solid information to our teams and customers in the residential real estate space. We are looking to add a Title Officer to our growing team. In this role you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting supporting our Title team in a variety of ways that could include:
- Collaborating with customers, attorneys, and lenders to resolve issues impacting title insurability prior to closing
- Performing title examination to examine the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, both residential and commercial
- Analyzing various records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plat and map books, and property surveys to determine ownership and legal restrictions
- Creating and revising title commitment as necessary
- Verifying that title insurance rates and coverage provided on the title commitment are given in accordance with instructions received by the insured parties of the transaction and in accordance with guidelines
- Reviewing and approving a variety of documentation including deeds, operating agreements, trusts, wills, affidavits of heirships, corporate resolutions, partnership agreements, and state filed Articles of Incorporation and Articles of Organization
This position plays a key role in making the dream of home ownership a reality. The Title Officer is responsible for effectively accomplishing the real estate closing transaction and ensuring title insurability. This is a REMOTE role and must be able to work in MST time zone.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years title related real estate experience with at least 2 years examining title
- Flexible with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to handle all aspects of title support
- Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication with both our internal team and external customers; adapting styles as needed
- Problem solver with strong organizational skills, is detail oriented, and has a natural curiosity with an eagerness to learn and share
- Thrives in contributing to a team working together to deliver beyond customer expectations
- Comfortable guiding and supporting future talent learning the business
- Knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications and technologies
- High School diploma or equivalent
