We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive execution and delivery for a high-impact SaaS product. This role partners closely with the Product Manager to translate vision and strategy into actionable backlog items and ensures the development team consistently delivers high-value outcomes in an agile, remote environment.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience, and brings prior experience as a Product Owner within a SaaS organization.

Responsibilities
Product Backlog & Planning

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to contribute to product vision and roadmap execution.
• Break down epics into features and detailed user stories aligned to roadmap priorities.
• Own and manage the development team backlog, ensuring priorities reflect customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Contribute to delivery planning by decomposing initiatives into incremental, value-driven releases.

Agile Execution & Team Collaboration

• Write clear, detailed user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Partner closely with the Technical Lead and development team to clarify requirements and ensure smooth sprint execution.
• Accept or reject completed work based on the Definition of Done (DoD).
• Help remove impediments that slow team progress, including cross-team dependencies or external blockers.
• Collaborate in facilitating Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, story mapping).
• Promote continuous improvement through retrospective-driven process enhancements.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Engagement

• Engage users, stakeholders, and support teams to gather feedback and iterate on features.
• Monitor feedback queues and prioritize tickets appropriately.
• Proactively communicate trade-offs, priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate dependencies across teams for integration, testing, and deployments.

Release & Communication

• Coordinate release activities and communicate release plans.
• Organize and facilitate product demos to showcase working software to stakeholders.
• Draft and publish release notes for software updates.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 - 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a dynamic product backlog.
• Experience working in distributed/remote teams.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and technical leads.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to balance business priorities, user needs, and technical constraints.
• Experience in research administration, finance or accounting, compliance, or regulated SaaS environments is a plus.
