Job Description
Role Description
The Technical Writer is consistent, detail-oriented, and enjoys a collaborative environment while being able to work independently. This role develops, edits, and delivers high-quality content for external and internal communications. This position is part of a Communications team that serves the Colorado account and collaborates daily with internal and client stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and effective content delivery.
- Write, edit, and manage the development of multi-vendor stakeholder communications and provider communications on behalf of the Gainwell client, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (Colorado Medicaid).
- Partner with internal subject matter experts across Gainwell teams to gather information, assess communication needs, and develop clear, accurate communications.
- Manage the full content development lifecycle, including drafting, internal review, client approval, publication, and tracking for content edits.
- Develop strong working knowledge of Gainwell subsystems.
- Understand and anticipate the provider experience.
- Provide a high-touch, white-glove client experience by anticipating needs, adapting to client preferences, and maintaining high quality standards.
- Monitor for errors, escalate issues promptly to leadership, and recommend process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Balance multiple priorities in an intermittently fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably supporting healthcare, government, or regulated environments.
- Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience managing review, approval, and stakeholder feedback processes.
- Project management experience strongly preferred, with ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and adaptable. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness and ability to learn complex subject matter to effectively collaborate with subject matter experts.
Requirements
- Writing sample required at a later stage in the application process.
- Available to meet the basic work schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time, with some extended hours as needed.
- Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation.
- To work effectively as a teleworker or hybrid positions with Gainwell, employees must have a reliable broadband internet connection with a minimum speed of 24 Mbps download and 8 Mbps upload. Higher speeds are recommended for optimal performance.

- The pay range for this position is $52,900.00 - $75,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
