Role Description
This role involves providing psychiatric mental health care as a part-time Nurse Practitioner in a fully remote model.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
- Formulate accurate, evidence-based diagnoses
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Monitor effectiveness and adjust treatment as needed
- Provide brief supportive therapy and psychoeducation
- Partner with therapists and care teams to ensure coordinated treatment
- Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EHR
- Uphold all ethical and professional standards
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
- Active, unrestricted Virginia PMHNP license & DEA
- Board Certification (PMHNP-BC)
- Experience with or passion for working with youth and families
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Comfort practicing in a telehealth environment
- New graduates are encouraged to apply — structured mentorship is available
Requirements
- Active Virginia PMHNP license (Multi-state or compact preferred)
- Must be able to practice independently without MD collaboration
